The TropCOVID Project is a Far North Queensland study mapping how immunity to COVID-19 changes over time in adults living in our region.

By measuring immunity from small blood donations collected across 12 months, we aim to better understand how long immune protection lasts, how it differs between people, and how prior infection and vaccination shape these responses.

This research will create a regional picture of COVID-19 immunity in Far North Queensland and build evidence to support future public-health planning, vaccination strategies, and infectious-disease research.

The TropCOVID Project brings together researchers and clinician-scientists from James Cook University and the University of Queensland. Our team has expertise in immunology, clinical research, public health, healthcare education, and immune monitoring.

Combining early-career leadership with senior scientific mentorship, we are delivering a safe, participant-centred study of COVID-19 immunity in Far North Queensland.
